Ladies, Start Your Engines

.
Curious Sofa's French Market at the Kansas City Junior League Holiday Mart 2008

On Tuesday the Sofa team started again to fine tune our booth and by 2:00 (2:00 in the afternoon!!!) we were finished. Some final tweaking was done today but I returned especially to shoot these photos. As I watched the rest of the vendors frantically setting up, I was so glad this event did not get the best of me. Now, if I can keep this pace for our Christmas Open House, I might be able to actually enjoy myself this season! I might even decorate my own house for the first time in 8 years.

As you can see the booth is jammed packed with smalls but it does not seem nearly as frantic in person as these pictures indicate. Many onlookers stopped us today and praised the booth. One said, "This is perfect Christmas shopping"- which is good. We have a different location this year and I am anticipating it to be so much better. Booth #517 in the NW corner of the only major intersection in the hall. At the end of this post, you'll see what else is there. (Just so you can see how different we are!)

Another midnight project, adding glitter accessories to some vintage photo

This harlequin board I bought at Round Top and had our logo printed over it.

My favorite project: These Curious Sofa pennants I designed and printed on canvas fabric paper and glued on a rope.

Vintage sign holders I also found in Texas with signs I made to point people to our booth.

Our wardrobe is important to me too, so I designed new art for the front of our aprons.
(Most say: Village Merchant/Purveyors of Oddities/Oldstuffologists

I bought this original French Postcard on Etsy to use for our Christmas Open House invitation. I had these printed with general info about the store to handout to new customers.
